Baines Middle School Theatre presents the 21st annual season of Troupe d’ Jour’s Midsummer Shakespeare Camp 2015.  During this two week camp, students will be able to train with professional actors to strengthen their skills in the following areas:  Acting, Movement, Voice, Diction, Focus, Text Analysis, Stage Combat, and Ensemble Performances.  The dates of the camp are June 15-18 and June 22-25 and will run from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Monday-Thursday, with a performance at the end of the camp).  Enrollment is open to students completing 2nd grade and older.  Inclusions:  instruction, course materials, performances and a souvenir T-shirt.  Total enrollment per week is limited to ensure the quality of each actor’s experience.  The cost for one week (June 15-18 or June 22-25) of the camp is $295 and for two weeks (both June 15-18 and June 22-25) is $495.  Please contact Kristin McNeely at Kristin.mcneely@fortbend.k12.tx.us if you are interested in your child participating in this educational opportunity.

Please put Baines Middle School in the “Team/Group Name” on the registration. Registration for the triathlon fills up fast. Don’t wait until the last minute to register.

Is your child interested in joining the Baines Longhorn Triathlon Team in preparation for the 4th annual Houston Texans Kids Triathlon on April 19, 2015?!The triathlon is an exciting way to be active whether you’re in for the competition and/or just for fun.

In addition to representing your school, Baines Middle School is offering an optional after-school triathlon training program for all 6-8th graders who have registered for the Houston Kids Triathlon. The training would be 4 clinics every other Sunday from 4-5pm starting March 1 at Baines (using the bike racks out front as our staging

area). Parents would also be welcome to the training clinics. We will go over bike rules, transition set up, make sure everyone’s bikes are properly adjusted to height and aired up; helmet fit, and of course training with short and longer brick workouts (run/bike/run).
To participate in this program, you must have a bike, helmet and running shoes (You will NOT be allowed to participate in the training or race without a helmet). On the day of practice, students will need to have their bikes at school on time. Students will be released promptly at 5 pm. The training program is completely optional, but students must be registered for the Baines Middle School Team for the Houston Kids Triathlon
Inappropriate and unsafe behavior will not be tolerated or students will be dismissed from the optional training program
Thank you for your support and we can’t wait to see our Longhorn Tri-Athletes in action!
